Katri Helena is so far the only Finnish singer that matches my taste. As I'm now bored with other Finnish learning games and methods, let's learn by analyzing her songs lyrics. This series could be long because she has released 480 songs in her 70 years' career. What an industrious artist!
Let's start with a familiar melody covered in many languages:
Million Roses.
Million Roses.
I'll find dictionary form of nouns and verbs by using Verbix, as well as why they were transformed. The why will be in pink. Words are also arranged differently compared to the conventional order for rhetorical effect, so I'll rearrange them.
Miljoona Ruusua - Katri Helena
Taas ruusut käy kukkimaan, tuoksua täynnä on maa

Young love is beautiful and pure
Looks, they just tell, I got happiness from your look at me
(Chorus x2)
Tunteen niin kaihoisan saan, ruusun kun nään hehkuvan

My song doesn't sound pain, even though I can't get you
I got a lot, however; the rosy road to memories

↺ Taas ruusut käy kukkimaan, tuoksua täynnä on maa

Chorus:
Miljoona, miljoona, miljoona ruusua

A million roses.
Fragrance of love.
The scents bring back memories
of first love feeling and of first love look.
Omg, it took me more effort than I thought. There are many question marks, which indicate I'm not sure. I also ignored adjectives, adverbs, and function words. I'd say that's enough for "pilot episode".
Listening to songs repeatedly would wire some words in your memory. But breaking down lyrics grammar is seriously a grind. I'll approach lyrics differently next time... (if there's next time). Now, my favorite game - the most effective and effortless - is still guessing words in Suomen kielen sanakirja maahanmuuttaja.
