It Doesn't Matter What Job You Do

What job should I take?? must be the most recurring question in my early adulthood.

Until I reached a line in chapter What Should I Do with My Life? in The Art of Saving the Planet by Thich Nhat Hanh:

"Anything is good. It depends on how you do it, not what you do."

People don't need to see the beautiful scene you saw

The sky this afternoon in Hanoi was oddly light blue.
The brightness and temperature were perfect.
I was in love with that sky.
But I didn't take any photos.
Am I lazy?
No. I'm learning to live to the fullest in every moment as before digital age.
There was no need to show others something beautiful you had seen.
You had to learn to describe it with words.
I'd prefer that.

The method shown below has been passed down through Vietnamese generations. It's complicated but no one ever thought of an easier way. Because cutting pineapple should be a challenge. Knowing how to cut pineapple is a way to earn respect in our society.

When Life Is Hard, Talk To Yourself

If your ultimate goal is to find inner peace, we're on the same boat.

I finally found it last night, during a self-talk.

Peace is when you stop chasing, look around, and embrace the moment. Peace is in the here and the now.

You may have read or heard this already. Wisdom is free on the internet. But knowing the truth alone can't help you escape suffering. Peace takes practice.

It takes practice to quickly return to the present and find peace when life feels chaotic. Peace is a skill to be builded.

That's why Zen Masters are called masters. A simple exercise is as follows:

How to make Fluffy Pork Floss and realize you want a blue-collar job

It's supposed to be my busy month, as Vietnamese tourism is in peak season. But I refused to guide more tours, stayed home to learn Finnish, cooking, and to make up my mind.
